  • No, as we do welcome walk-ins for groups less than 8. Although at busy times e.g weekends & holidays reserving a table is advisable*

    If you are a group of 8+ or to reserve a table please fill in the email form here and we will reply as soon as we can!

    *Tables will be reserved only for a limited time during busy periods, so please let us know if you can no longer make it!

    We also recommend reserving no later than 2pm to give you enough time to paint before we close!

  • All pots are ready to collect within 7-10 days, *unless specified during busy periods

    We won’t contact you when your pottery is ready, so please refer to your collection form, and bring it with you when you come to collect,

    A reminder that we can only keep pots painted for a maximum of 2 months, due to limited storage space.

    After this time we have no choice but to recycle them, so please do collect as we never want to get rid of anyone’s painted pot!

  • Our pots range from £8 - £45 which also includes the paints, glazing, firing & filing etc.

    We don’t have a price list as we get new stock in regularly. Therefore it just depends on what pot you chose to paint.

    Oh and no extra studio fee!

  • At the end of your session you will be given a collection sheet to keep or take a photo of,

    this has the date for when your pots are ready to collect written on it,

    (we do not contact you when your pots are ready).

    From any time on or after that date (within 2 months) just pop in! Show us your collection form or photo of it and your pots will be handed (carefully) over!

    We recommend bringing your own strong bag when collecting larger pots.

    Due to storage, we can only keep pots painted for 2 months , after this time they will have to be recycled.

  • Yes! We have a range of drinks and snacks available for you while you paint.

    Look out for our bring your own booze evenings!

  • We are a small business so purchasing snacks & drinks we provide helps to support us, therefore please don’t bring your own food and drinks.

    ‍If you have booked a private party or event you are very welcome to bring refreshments with you & don’t forget the cake!

  • Yes a perfect keepsake!

    The paints are all non-toxic and easily washable!

    Footprints are usually easier with the darker colours working best to make the prints stand out! Handprints are known for being more difficult as babies prefer to curl up their little hands!

    Weekdays are quieter and we’re more available to help if needed as weekends or holidays can be busy, however we will always try our best to help, so please don’t hesitate to ask!

    Please Note: we are short on space on the ground floor so pushchairs can sometimes be a squeeze, therefore where possible please use a carrier

  • Our parties/group bookings start at a minimum of 10 people.

    For parties less than 10 we can reserve you a table!

  • We are a small business, run since 2004. So we value the relaxation and mindfulness pottery painting brings, therefore we have no fixed booking system in an attempt to keep your sessions time limit free!

    However at busy times we might let you know if a reservation may need your table,

    But not to worry because we also offer the chance to come back another day if you haven’t completed your painting!

    So no last minute panicked painting!

  • Yes, we can post your painted pots. Packing and postage starts from £5.

    Although unfortunately we are unable to post internationally.

  • We wouldn’t recommend it if you want to make sure it lasts as long as possible, hand washing is a lot gentler on your painted pot.

    However they are totally safe to eat or drink from!

  • Yes! The perfect gift! Available in the studio!

  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

  • Our building is a very old Grade II listed cottage, therefore accessibility is limited with 2 stairs to get to the front entrance.

    Although we have had wheelchair users paint with us in the past, we wouldn’t consider ourselves wheelchair accessible.

  • We love all kinds of animals at Potters Den, as you might tell from our animal range!

    However our ground floor is sometimes tight on space at busy times, although we understand you know your pet best and how suited they’ll be to a pottery studio so quieter weekdays may work better!

    Why not print their paw on a pot!🐾

  • Pottery Painting for all is our slogan! From babies to grandparents we don’t discriminate, there’s no age limit on creativity!

  • Unfortunately not as we can only fire pots painted in our studio.

  • Your pot is left to dry fully before being wrapped safely and taken to the kiln.

    Next your pot is dipped carefully into a clear non toxic top glaze and is then left to dry again.

    Once fully dry your pot is checked and made smooth, then loaded into the kiln… Many hours later out it comes shiny, extra colorful, waterproof and finished!
